Over the past eight years, Team Choo 17U has played a pivotal role in the development of young athletes, facilitating 55 athletic and academic scholarships for 51 girls and boys. These scholarships, awarded at both Division I and Division II levels, highlight the team’s commitment to excellence in sports and academics.
The 2021 season marked a significant milestone for Team Choo, as the squad gained recognition by competing against some of the top shoe teams in the country. Among the standout athletes was Jordan Pennick, a dedicated participant in the Choo Smith Youth Empowerment program since the age of five. His hard work and perseverance culminated in a full athletic scholarship to the prestigious Naval Academy.
Team Choo’s achievements did not go unnoticed, as multiple media outlets covered the team, shining a spotlight on six of its nine members.
